Baths, “Exit the Mine”
Apparently, Will Weisenfeld—aka Baths—recorded this little ditty on a brand new iPad app called Beatmaker. It doesn’t surprise me. It certainly sounds like something Weisenfeld would do. So too, does the song itself. “Exit the Mine” is the typical Baths mixture of delicately pressed piano keys and sparse handclaps smoothed over with a velvety vocal mix. However, Weisenfeld’s talent for penning lyrics that are so obviously about the ex-girlfriend that introduced me to his music is getting tiring. Or at least it would be if it didn’t seem half the point.
