Kurt Vile, “The Creature”
Kurt Vile always manages to seem mysterious and shrouded. Songs like “The Creature” from his forthcoming EP So Outta Reach—and to be sure, most of Smoke Ring For My Halo’s material—are clearly confessional in nature. Despite this I can never walk away from listening to Vile’s work and think i know more about the man. “The Creature” delicately rolls out a foot-tapping folk rhythm much in the same vein of Halo highlight “Baby’s Arms”, but with a bit more fuzz and intertwining riffage.
